One of the oldest continuously running businesses in Tampa, Castellano & Pizzo first opened in Ybor City in 1892 and operated as a family-owned market through five generations.

Owners Rob and Mandy Pallone are proud to carry on the great history of fine Italian and gourmet foods and building on the wonderful history of this unique market and cafe, which has operated in south Tampa since the mid-1970s.

Just walking through the front door is enough to make your taste buds water as you are greeted by a wide variety of aromas from our gourmet deli offering such traditional favorites as home-made lasagnas, chicken, veal and eggplant Parmesan, chicken Marsala, trout russa, arroz con pollo, pasta salads, and much more.  Perfect for providing a scrumptious fresh-made meal for the family at home or for the single person not wanting to cook or run to the fast food joint.

The market offers everything from fine wines, meats (including our classic home-made Italian sausage), cheeses, olives, oils, and balsamic vinegars to sauces, fine breads and fresh produce.

Stop in at lunch, Monday through Friday, and enjoy a homemade hot meal, salad bar or one of our award-winning Cuban sandwiches at our Cafe Mezzogiorno.

Each Saturday afternoon, we invite our customers to sample our featured wine of the week right at our check out counter.
